What is the $1,000 SafeWork NSW rebate?

The Safework NSW rebate is a $1,000 rebate available to NSW businesses with under 50 employees.

It is a rebate to offset the costs of a vast array of safety equipment which is purchased through the business in order to improve the health and safety of workers.

It is also that glorious soundbite known as ‘Free money’.

Businesses should aim to be sustainable and viable in their own right, without any government assistance, but hey, when it comes around why not benefit from what is offered to small businesses who take risks to create the Australian dream.

Who can apply for the SafeWork NSW rebate?

Small businesses including sole traders who have a registered ABN in NSW, operate in NSW and have less than 50 employees.

Who cannot apply for the Safework NSW rebate?

Businesses that have already received the rebate, businesses with more than 50 employees, and businesses who have received some other grant for the same eligible item.

Other requirements for the rebate

Eligible businesses must also complete this online 15-minute webinar to be eligible at a minimum. Alternatively, the business can organise an inspector visit where a SafeWork NSW employee will visit your worksite and provide practical WHS advice.
